THE BIGGEST MISTAKE ATHLETES MAKE EACH SUMMER.

For athletes, Summer is a time that marks a significant opportunity to make progress.

Sadly, many athletes will sacrifice their athletic future for a summer of taking it easy or focusing on the wrong things.

Mediocre athletes generally fall into two categories during the summer:


  1. Those who only focus on skill development, and

  2. Others who want to relax by playing more video games and hanging out with friends.


But the most impactful athletes, the starters and playmakers, have one thing in common…



...THEY KEEP TRAINING!

 

Summer is a time to maximize an athletes potential by focusing on the right areas, this includes:


  1. Skill Development

  2. Strength & Conditioning

  3. Improving Nutrition 

  4. Optimizing Recovery 



WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

 

Most young athletes talk about “training like a pro” because it sounds cool, but few fully understand what this means…


There’s a few things Pro’s do that a young athlete needs to embrace:


  1. Consistency - Pro’s don’t take time off from training. They plan recovery.

  2. Punctuality - Pro's show up on time and embrace the "boring" work.

  3. Attitude - Pro's show up ready to work and give their best effort.

  4. Patience - Pro's understand small actions over time create big results. 

  5. Focus - Pro’s key in on the details. Plan the work and work the plan.

  6. Mindset - Pro’s embrace a growth mentality and look for opportunities to learn from failure. 


At my training facility Physical Culture, we help young athletes develop the Pro Mentality and teach them how to perform up to their potential. 


MAKE IT HAPPEN

 

If your kid has big dreams of playing at the next level, earning a starting position on their team, or just becoming a stand-out athlete, this summer they have a chance to accomplish their goals. 


Over the past 8 years I’ve held Summer Sports Performance CAMP’s at  Physical Culture in St.Pete, Florida. This summer we’re opening up 20 more spots for young athletes to actually come train like pros. 


From June - August, we take 20-40 Athletes and spend the summer helping them reach their goals through training, education, and building them into better athletes. 


Don’t get me wrong...Skill development is crucial during the off-season, but sadly many athletes over focus on skill only to get dominated during the season by the competition that got bigger, faster, stronger and MORE SKILLED. 





Physical Culture’s  SUMMER SPORTS PERFORMANCE CAMP is back!


CAMP DETAILS:

Registration is now open for all Athletes ages 10 +  


High School: (90 minute session) Monday - Wednesday - Friday 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Middle School: (60 minute session) Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
